Current & Ongoing Projects

  • College Scholarships for JFK Seniors

Our flagship project - since 1997, the Foundation's endowed Scholarship Fund has helped graduating seniors of Mt. Angel's John F. Kennedy High School achieve their higher education goals. Currently, the program awards six scholarships per year, each valued at $1,500 per academic year and renewable for up to two or four years of undergraduate study, depending on the scholarship. MACF scholarships may be used for study at any college, university, trade, technical or vocational school. In addition to academic criteria, the awards consider factors such as leadership, character, community service, work ethic, and life goals preparation.

  • Mt. Angel Glockenspiel

The Foundation helped raise funds to build Mt. Angel's famous Glockenspiel, a picturesque focal point for our village. Funds now are used to maintain this unique feature.

  • Mt. Angel Community Festhalle

Our most recent major project is the construction of the new Mt. Angel 'Festhalle' community building. Primary construction on the first phase of the community's 'Festhalle' building was completed in September 2011, and the building opened for its first public use during Oktoberfest 2011. This beautiful building, with its raised stage, wooden dance floor and catering kitchen, is in high demand year-round (reservation information is available on the Mt. Angel Oktoberfest website: It continues to welcome thousands of visitors annually as a main music venue during Oktoberfest, and is used year-round for meetings, performances, special occasions and public events. Meanwhile, our fundraising efforts continue, as we seek support to complete and furnish all levels of this building to meet community needs, so that this Festhalle can serve Mt. Angel and surrounding communities for many years to come.

If you would like to rent the Festhalle for an event, please contact Meghan Bischoff at 503-551-2907.
